The Chair for Gender Medicine is recruiting a RESEARCH TECHNICIAN. Among other top-ics, we investigate the molecular mechanisms of cardiac health and disease, emphasizing gender differences. Our research focuses on physiological and pathological cardiac growth, heart failure, regeneration, and exercise-induced cardiac remodeling. We utilize advanced models such as hu-man induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), primary cardiomyocyte cultures, and animal (rodent) models. By uncovering the fundamental mechanisms of cardiovascular pathophysiology and their gender-specific aspects, we aim to develop innovative therapeutic strategies for heart disease that consider sex and related factors. We are looking for a competent, team-oriented research techni-cian to support our work. Your responsibilities You will independently perform research experiments such as: isolation and cultivation of embryonic/neonatal cells, sterile work with cell lines (cell proliferation/viability/apoptosis/migration assays), Western blot (including the JESS technology), PCR, RT-PCR, cloning, plasmid preparation (Maxi), ELISA, histology, immunostaining, microscopy, FACS, animal experimental work with mice (genotyping and maintenance of mouse lines), work with Adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors Active participation in research group meetings and research seminars Operation and maintenance of lab reagents, equipment and facilities Participation in the management of lab (organization and logistic) Your profile Applicants must have a diploma/degree in vocational training as a laboratory technician or a degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related disciplines Practical experience in basic methods of biology and histology such as cell culture (primary, iPSCs cardiomyocytes), Western blot, RT-PCR, ELISA, histology, microscopy and an-imal experiments Good knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word and Power Point) Basic knowledge of statistics is a plus Good communication skills in English and German You are motivated, team-orientated, friendly and authentic Detail-orientated and can-do attitude Further information For further informations please contact Prof. Carolin Lerchenmüller, Chair for Gender Medicine by Mail.
